FOUR THINGS RIGHT NOW: DELIVERIES, BERRIES AND TASTY SMALL HANDS

The Mexican oilcloth fabric bits I had ordered arrived. I love Mexican oilcloths; the patterns and their colours! NowI just have to figure out what to do with these...(no really, I will choose one for a big table cloth to order and the small bits will have a purpose on the balcony and porch and so on.)

The mailman also brought me an "instant beehive"  which I rolled my hair around to a big slightly messy 'do.

Dag has discovered his hands and that they are nicely cheweable. Drool.

And now it's time for some evening jam; as in jamming berries and fruit!

PS. I have been invited to participate in this inspiration flow-concept among Finnish blogs starting in October. Due to that there is a sidebar poll by TNS Gallup for my readers - or well, for some precent of you, as it is in Finnish. Among those who have answered the pop-up questionnaire ten will be drawn to win giftcards. There poll will go on for about a week.

FOUR THINGS RIGHT NOW - FROM SUNDAY EVENING TO NIGHT

Came home to the city; we spent the end of last week on the farm. But now that summer will one over the city flat will be our base camp again. (And now I intend to organise things and tidy up so it will be nice again; the past year it has been an awful chaos.)
This is what Tapiola is like; lots of midcentury- and sixties houses embedded in lots of green, following the landscape; building low where the landscape is low and high on the hills. Or, what old Tapiola is like, as they are building lots of new and high for the moment. Our balcony is the one with the colourful hanging lateens ont he top floor.

Most of my weekend however was spent at a fitness education course. I took as support for the dance classes and courses I hold. See  how my work out bag has a neatly sewn (put two fingers up in the air and do a little double bend on them as you say "neatly") IBTC patch on it (we still have a handful left).

On my way home I popped by Anttila in Sello which is closing down and being emptied out. It's rather empty by now but I came over a hundred euros worth of shoes for only twelve; these everyday wedge sandals I still intend on using for the last warm days and a pair of girlie/granny autumn walking shoes. I got Dag a moomin scarf for a few pennies as well.

And then the sun set and we had virigin mary's on the balcony.

FOUR THINGS RIGHT NOW: SATURDAY MORNING

Woke up to a slow grey November morning.
Look at my plant btw. It's grown over 3 metres long during this autumn! It's called doftranka in Swedish and tuoksuköynnös in Finnish but I don't know the English name -it has white flowers that smell very sweet and I'm hoping it would bloom next spring; last year it didn't.

Beautiful dew-drops on the porch plants.

Made a porridge on our homegrown organic oats with pomegranate and banana plus an anti-flu smoothie with red oranges, pineapple, wineberries, lots of organic ginger and cilantro.

Then Dag (and all his animals) got a quick bath.

And now it's on with our clothes and heading to the harbour and hopping on the ferry to Sweden tonight for a family trip!

FOUR THINGS RIGHT NOW: CAKE AND MUSCLES AND LIVING ROOM DANCING

Sunday. Humid and misty outside, warm and cosy inside. Inspite of that I made it out for a late morning run. Brrr.

Then I cleaned up a long-coveted family item of mine, and old chess-table that now found it's way to the farmhouse. A closer look on it some other time.

Did some work on a set of pictures I took for a sports team's calendar that they are making to raise money. It was quite hilarious to do.

Took a break from the abs and baked a mud cake with lingonberries to take along when popping by for afternoon coffee at Eddi's brother's at the other house on the farm.

But first Dag wanted to do some dancing to whatever was on the radio, and so we did.

FOUR THINGS RIGHT NOW

Have some friends come over to borrow our tree for a photoshoot. (It will turn out great, from the sneak peeks I saw!)

Meanwhile I'm snapping some photos for Eddi's farm business of the linen that is blooming.

And then we pick wild strawberries with Dag.

And then I whip together some home made peanut butter. Half of it will go into cookies but we can look at those another time.

FOUR THINGS RIGHT NOW: THE FIRST EVENING OF MAY

Came home from celebrations in town. From our part the celebrations were rather minor again; the only bottle I had with me was one with hand disinfectant...

There was a seagull hanging out on our buildings skylight window, which is just outside our door.

I painted my toe nails in summer mode, although it's not really sandal weather here yet. (And started thinking that when looked at for a while, feet kind of look like odd hands with too short fingers.)

Then it was time for  a big bowl of toffee ice cream with strawberries. And some Don Draper.

FOUR THINGS RIGHT NOW: THE LIGHT IS BACK!

I love this time of year! The light starts pouring trough the windows again and suddenly you remember it does not get dark at 3:pm al year round...

We stayed over nigt in the countryside. Ate some left overs from the weekend's birthday party; my vegan apple-berry pie I made on spelt, oats and coconut oil.

I like to put smaller plants in jars (of course I do, me and jars you know...) or big coffee cups.

And Dag is riding his horse.

FOUR THINGS RIGHT NOW: MONDAY MORNING

Dag was reading the paper very seriously.

Had a peanut-butter apple mash sandwich.

And made a smoothie milk shake of frozen black currants, some banana, tropical juice and almond milk.

It was so popular I had to make a second set.

The rest of the day has been spent in bed, trying to entertain Dag with picture books and cartoons,  as I have caught a cold of some sort.

FOUR THINGS RIGHT NOW - GLITTER AND SUCH

Started taking out some Christmas decorations - gotta glitz things up. (Yes, the pom-poms are making a comeback to delight our two neighbours and the occasional mailman at the door!) Quite funny, Lulu decided her resting place for tonight was next to the lit up soon-to-be balcony lights.

Managed to go via the post office to pick up a parcel with some skin care products I'd run out of just just in time for our sauna night. I got myself some Black African soap and shea butter from Akoma, all natural, Fair Trade and ecological. Can be used for everything on everyone!

Most old buildings have a shared sauna (in newer flats they usually build them in each apartment, aslo in small ones), and our shift is every Tuesday night. We seldom make it, but it's just  a few coins per months so it's not the end of the world. Tonight however I did. And I just grab my can of coconut oil and the black liquid soap and I'm good to go; that's all I need for far body and hair. Easy.

Eddi is with the boys at the farm with the lambs for the evening so I had a late dinner by myself, a bucket of salad and the newest interior mag (lots of grey and white and veneer in this one too...)

I didn't go out to the farm tonight because I had my nails done. I wanted them Christmas crazy. So they got glitter and Christmas roses and all. Originally I had thought of something a bit different with other kind of glitter and roses and such but I've noticed there is always this small language barrier at the salon. Well, they're fun (even though monsieur thought they look "a bit messy")! And they are very Mistle Tease, and that's what they are for.

And oh did I say Mistle Tease? Well why yes, and go get your tickets in time because they are -wohoo- selling rather well!

FOUR THINGS RIGHT NOW

Everything happens to hang in red and white.

A lily in a big jar.

Dag trying to open the front door with my car keys.

And wool socks for a chilly November day.

x4

I did some serious gardening. You know the kind that starts with a pair of cutters dum-di-dum and ends with an everything-must-go moment, a tractor and a big pile of dirt. The one that makes it all look much worse than before once finished but you know that eventually, with some time,  it will all turn out better than it was.

Dag indulged in some serious ice cream cone eating and was strangely keen on hading out and asking for immediate hugs right after. Nice.

So we all went for an evening swim in the pond nearby, to wipe off dirt and ice cream and the heat. It's iek plus a million here right now. And I'm not the one to complain.

And then when all the small noisy people were asleep I had myself seom Neil Young on the radio, a beer and a lot of one of my favorite dishes; vietnamese spring rolls. With lettuce and cabbage, bean sprouts, avocado, tofu rolled in rice paper and that yummy vinegar-soy sauce. Oh droolers, must make myself some more as son as possible...
